DojoCon 2016 – 21st, 22nd & 23rd October at the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire is the annual Global CoderDojo Community Conference, which aims to attract mentors, parents and interested parties from Dojo’s worldwide.

The theme of this years conference is “CoderDojo Connects: Smarter Tech, Smarter Living”.

Friday 21st

An evening social, kicked off with  a wine and canapé reception, lively soapbox talks, followed by a trip to a local pub for some trad music and fun.

Saturday 22nd

The Saturday timetable features opening presentations to unite and engage our community. The conference then splits into 3 streams Elevate, Engage and IoT (The Internet Of Things). A schedule of speakers will be given to guests upon arrival.

  • Partners and children of conference attendees can visit the dlr Lexicon Library to take part in “DojoThon“. “DojoThon” features several dojo sessions which children of attendees can attend or mentor at; this event is also open to local children.
  • Talks/workshops on “Tech for Everyday Living” are open to the public on Saturday in the dlr Lexicon Library theatre.
  • Lunch is at 12.30 in stunning The Royal Marine Hotel, DunLaoghaire, this offers a fantastic opportunity to mingle with other CoderDojo Community Members. Lunch is followed by even more engaging talks and presentations and networking opportunities.
  • All attendees of the conference welcomed to a fun and relaxed after party in the Royal Marine Hotel, with live music, finger food and plenty of craic.


Dun Laoghaire: Host Town To DojoCon2016

Sunday 23rd

Sunday invites DojoCon attendees and their families to enjoy a few hours at the local park “DojoCamp” – CoderDojo sessions will run in a marquee for a few hours.  Children of attendees and children from the area can go along, and the family can enjoy lunch al fresco from one of many CoCo Market Food Stalls.
